Real-World Range Test
Ola claims 195 km IDC range. In our real-world testing across Bangalore city traffic, we consistently got 130-145 km in Normal mode and 95-110 km in Sport mode. In Eco mode with careful riding, we touched 160 km. The range is sufficient for 3-4 days of 40 km daily commuting on a single charge.
Performance Experience
The 120 kmph top speed is achievable on flat roads with a single rider. In daily use, the scooter comfortably cruises at 70-80 kmph. The acceleration is strong and instant – overtaking in city traffic is effortless. Hill climbing is impressive even with a pillion rider. The cruise control works well on highways.
MoveOS 4 Software Review
The 7-inch touchscreen is responsive and visibility is decent even in bright sunlight. Navigation works well with turn-by-turn directions. Music playback through the built-in speaker is a fun feature. The proximity unlock with your phone is reliable. OTA updates add new features regularly – we received 3 updates during our 6-month test.
Build Quality and Issues
Build quality has improved significantly from early units. Panel gaps are consistent, paint quality is good, and the scooter feels solid. However, we noticed some minor rattling from the under-seat area after 3 months. The service centre fixed it quickly under warranty. The touchscreen occasionally freezes in extreme heat (45°C+) but recovers after a minute.
Charging Experience
Home charging from 15A socket takes 5 hours from 20% to 100%. We set up a nightly charging routine – plug in at 10 PM, fully charged by 3 AM. The Ola Hypercharger network is expanding rapidly – we found 8 chargers within 5 km of our location in Bangalore. Fast charging gives approximately 50 km range in 15 minutes.
Running Cost Analysis
Our electricity cost for 6 months: Rs 2,100 (approximately 7,500 km). That’s Rs 0.28 per km including charging losses. A comparable 125cc petrol scooter would have cost approximately Rs 19,000 in petrol for the same distance. Total saving in 6 months: Rs 16,900.
